Police allege a red Ford F100 pickup truck heading southbound on Prince Charles Drive near Thorold Road ran a red light, causing a five vehicle collision.
The F100 collided with the rear of a red Hyundai and a Chevrolet pickup truck simultaneously, which caused the two cars that were struck to hit a silver Jeep Cherokee and a black Toyota Rav4.
Four people sustained minor injuries.
The suspect, 41 year old Billy Joe Knarr of St. Catharines, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Knarr was arrested and is facing impaired driving charges.
