Sylvia Matthews has been playing the lottery for the last 10 years, and finally got her big win
A fantastic win for an 84-year old St. Catharines woman.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation says Sylvia Matthews is $250,000 richer after winning a top prize with Instant Sapphire Solitaire.
She's been playing the lottery for the last 10 years, and was at home recently when she checked her ticket using the OLG app on her phone.
As for what's next, the OLG says she plans to take some time before deciding what to do with the winnings.
The winning ticket was bought at Avondale on Carlton Street in St. Catharines.
