Police were looking into the theft of the bag of money from a Welland Walmart
An update from Niagara Regional police concerning a bag of over $5,000 taken from the Walmart in Welland back in November.
Police say on Thursday a man walked into a police station in Welland, and handed the bag of money over.
Police have been looking into the theft, after the money was accidently left alone at the store, and two women were seen, on video, taking the money.
The man who turned the money over says he recognized the two women through media reports, and said they had been staying with him, before they returned to Mexico.
Police add the man searched his house and found the money.
