Niagara Parks busy promoting internationally as well as locally
The high price of fuel and cost of living not lost on Niagara Parks as it prepares for a busy tourism season.
CEO David Adames gave the region an impressive update of the millions of dollars being spent, on Journey Behind the Falls, FIFA world cup, and many other projects.
He added they've spent the last 2 years promoting internationally, but Niagara is also easily accessible to Canadians. "For those who planned a longer hauled trip, typically those are planned 12-24 months in advance. You're planning ahead, those are already booked, they're locked in. So, now we're selling 2027-2028."
He says agents have been working in Germany, France, the UK and Mexico. "We do pro-active sales missions into those markets as well, so we had to be out there asking for the business pro-actively. We saw double digit growth in markets like the UK, Germany, France, South Korea, Australia, Japan, this past year, and we want to see that continued growth, so yes, we are expecting a strong year."
They're also opening a 100-year old tunnel near Journey Behind the Falls, that the public has never seen.
