Our boys beat the Czech Republic 3-2 in overtime
HALIFAX - Team Canada won the gold medal at the world junior hockey championship in Halifax.
The Canadians celebrated a 3-2 win over Czechia last night.
Dylan Guenther scored his second goal of the night in overtime to help secure the win. Shane Wright scored the other goal for Canada and it also happened to be his 19th birthday.
Connor Bedard has been named the tournament MVP with 23 points in seven games.
Canada also won the gold medal at the last world junior hockey championship, making it the first country to win repeat gold medals since Canada won gold between 2005 and 2009.
