A 15 year old has been charged with assault with a weapon
A teenager is in hospital after a stabbing in Welland.
Around 9:15 last night, crews were called to a restaurant on Lincoln Street.
Police say two groups of teenagers, including the suspect and the victim, had previously been involved in an altercation.
The argument was rekindled after the two groups encountered each other at the restaurant, and a fight broke out.
The victim was taken to hospital with injuries that are believed to be serious but non-life threatening.
A 15 year old boy from Welland has been arrested and charged with assault with a weapon.
The accused has been released under a Form 10 Undertaking, and a future court date has been set.
Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the suspect's identity cannot be released.
