City closes community arenas amid rising COVID-19 cases.
Thorold residents have been left without a place to skate or play hockey.
Due to a rise in COVID-19 cases, the City has closed Thorold community arenas for the time being.
The City's website says "out of an abundance of caution, and given the rise of COVID-19 infections, our Arenas have been closed until further notice."
Officials say in consultation with Niagara Public Health, the situation continues to be monitored.
