The Lord Mayor of Niagara-on-the-Lake is encouraging tourists to stay home during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Betty Disero issued a statement on the town’s YouTube page after an overwhelming amount of people decided to visit the town last weekend.
She says signs have been posted on the outskirts of town, encouraging everyone to stay home during this time of crisis.
She says the municipality has also closed public washrooms and select parking areas.
Niagara-on-the-Lake is also stepping up its by-law enforcement measures, so you might be able to spot more by-law officers on the streets.
