Taxpayers will pay about $12 more in property taxes this year
The Town of Fort Erie has passed its 2023 budget.
Council has approved an increase of 0.88 percent for the Town's portion of the residential property tax.
This means the average homeowner will pay an extra $12 in property taxes this year.
Highlights of the capital budget include $2.3 million to revitalize Douglas Park, and $2.1 million for road resurfacing.
Items greenlit for the operating budget include an environmental planner, a fire training officer and legal costs for Ontario Land Tribunal appeals.
