Organizers say the band, as well as broadcaster Barbara Frum and music video visionary Director X will be recognized with sidewalk stars in Toronto's Entertainment District.
The Tragically Hip are being inducted for their activism for social and environmental causes, and Frum is being recognized for her influence in Canadian broadcasting.
Julien Christian Lutz, known professionally as Director X, has made music videos for numerous artists, including Rihanna and Kanye West.
An in-person gala will be held in Toronto on December 3rd.
Organizers say more inductees will be announced in the coming weeks.
