Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau says his party is planning to introduce $10-a-day child care.
During an appearance in Markham today, Trudeau noted that it's tough for parents - especially women - to work without affordable child care.
The Liberals say they plan to cut child care fees in half within the next year, and introduce a plan that would cost about $10 a day within five years.
Meanwhile, the Tory platform includes a refundable tax credit between $4,500 and $6,000 per child, with the goal of covering up to 75 percent of child care costs for low-income families.
As well, the NDP is promising universal child care at the cost of $10 a day.
