The engine was found yards away from crushed car, on QEW near Glendale
Update 11am:
A provincial police constable is scratching his head as to how two people in their mid 20s escaped a morning rollover with minor injuries.
Kevin Westhead tells us they were called early this morning to the Toronto bound QEW near Glendale, to find a car in the ditch, demolished. "They crawled out of that car, and it was crushed like a sardine can. I'm not sure how they managed it, but they're extremely lucky. Seatbelts were utilized, so that, along with airbags, likely saved their lives.", he says.
He adds speed is likely a factor, noting it took three tow trucks to remove the car, which he described as a mess.
"The engine was about 50 yards down from the car. It had come right out from under the bottom of the car, it was a heavy impact."
Charges are pending.
