Due to a surge in COVID-19 infections, the CDC is altering its travel recommendation for Canada, telling Americans not to cross the border.
Americans are being advised not to travel north of the border.
The CDC has changed its travel recommendation for Canada to "Level Four: Very High" in light of a surge in new COVID-19 infections.
At the moment, there are about 80 countries at Level Four, and the CDC says if Americans need to visit any of them, they should first ensure they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
In November, the U.S. lifted land border restrictions with Canada and Mexico for fully vaccinated foreign nationals.
