Update: Cyclist Dies Following Welland Crash

Cyclist loses life after being hit by a pickup truck.

Officers and EMS were called to the King and 4th Street area yesterday where they found a 72 year old man suffering from life threatening injuries after he was struck by a pickup truck.

He was taken to local hospital then airlifted to an out of region facility.

Police say the man died of his injuries in hospital.

The 59 year old driver of a Chevy Silverado was not injured.
