A person had to be airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash on the southbound 406 in St. Catharines.
OPP Constable Westhead says crews were responding single-vehicle crash close to Fourth Ave last night when another vehicle lost control while passing.
"They ended up going around the emergency vehicles including an MTO crash truck, striking one of the crash truck operators."
Westhead says the drivers speed and the wet road conditions may have been contributing factors.
"We just want to continue to remind people that when the road conditions change and especially on those curves, be aware that anything could be out there. We have to be cognizant of our speed especially in these slippery road conditions."
The investigation is ongoing.
