A sad update from police in connection to an assault that happened in St. Catharines August 10th.
NRP were called to the Merritt Street and Townline Road area, to find a 68-year old man with serious injuries.
Turns out he randomly came across four men, one of them started hitting him, leaving him on the ground.
That suspect, 34-year old Raymond Douglas Warner of no fixed address was arrested.
Police tell us the victim died August 27th, which upgrades the initial charge of aggravated assault to 2nd degree murder.
The accused appeared in court yesterday, and remains in custody.
Police are still looking for the three other men, and if you have video of the area, call police.
