Village of Hope seeking donations for Thanksgiving Hamper program.
The Village of Hope in Lincoln is starting to prepare for Thanksgiving.
The food bank's annual Thanksgiving Hamper program kicks off today, and will continue until October 10th.
The program provides supplies to families to help them prepare a Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings.
The organization is looking for donations.
It says donations of $100 can sponsor an entire family, but contributions of any size are welcome.
The organization reports about one in 8 people in the area go hungry for part of each month, and that number is expected to rise as food and shelter costs increase.
