The 55 year old millwright says he plays the lottery every week, and his wife was "jumping for joy" when he showed her the winning ticket.
He plans to put the money in the bank and decide how to spend it later.
"I purchased a trailer back in May, so this helps. I also purchased a gift for our anniversary," he smiled.
The winning ticket was bought in Welland at Avondale on Lincoln Street.
