Public Health has issued warnings for five of Niagara's beaches going into the weekend.
You should avoid swimming at the following beaches for now;
- Bay Beach (Fort Erie)
- Sherkston Quarry Beach (Port Colborne)
- Sherkston Wyldewood Beach (Port Colborne)
- Long Beach (Wainfleet)
- Wainfleet Lake Erie Public Access Beach (Wainfleet)
Waverly Beach in Fort Erie is currently closed along with Nelles Beach in Grimsby.
Public Health issues warnings whenever officials find high levels of E. Coli, lots of weeds or floating debris in the water.
This could lead to ear, eye, nose, throat or skin infections if you decide to go swimming.
