Environment Canada says the Hammer is expected to get patchy freezing drizzle this morning, changing over to rain midday before transitioning to snow possibly mixed with ice pellets this afternoon.
The weather office says ice accretion of 2 to 4 mm is possible.

The precipitation is forecast to begin as a mix of ice pellets and freezing rain, then as the temperature climbs above freezing, areas close to Lake Ontario will see the icy mix transition to rain before it switches to wet snow.
For Niagara, periods of rain beginning this morning, with the chance of some freezing rain, and that will change to flurries or periods of ice pellets later this afternoon.
