You’ll have to wait another week before you can go swimming in Rosie Smith Memorial pool this summer.
The City of Welland has decided to push back the opening until Friday, July 10th to give staff more time to comply with COVID-19 protocols and make sure staffing is up to par.
Staff members need to be ready to respond to first aid and rescue situations while following COVID-19 safety measures.
The pool will be open from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m, the washrooms will be available but all change rooms will remain closed.
The city is also planning to reopen the splash pads in Glenwood Park, Memorial Park and Chippawa Park on Saturday, July 11th.
They will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and officials will be on-site to make sure everyone is practising physical distancing.
