Police began looking into this in August, and arrested the 28-year old today
A 28-year old Welland man is facing a number of child porn charges.
Police say back in August they began looking into numerous uploads of Child Sexual Abuse Material to a Google cloud-based storage device. Yesterday they used a search warrant for a home in Welland and found electronic devices, that were soon examined to show evidence related to accessing and sharing images of child porn on the internet.
The NRP's Internet Child Exploitation unit found Joshua Couto Paiva today, and charged him with 2 counts of possessing child porn, and 1 count of accessing it.
Police say he remains in custody and has a bail hearing tomorrow in St. Catharines.
Police add there is a website designed to help parents and guardians to keep children safe while online... click here.
