Welland Ranks in Canada's Top 20 Most Open Cities

The Rose City is being celebrated for its transparency and accountability.

Welland is one of Canada's Top 20 Most Open Cities.
The city moves up four spots to sit at 16 out of 55 participating municipalities.
The ranking from Public Sector Digest's Open Cities Index looks at how accessible the city's data is to the public.
Welland Mayor Frank Campion says the ranking shows the important steps the city is taking to ensure accountability and transparency.
CAO Gary Long says open data is a cornerstone of their open government initiatives which are having a positive impact on our community and stakeholders.
