Temporary development freeze on new facilities set to expire
The City of Welland is reviewing its current zoning by-law requirements relating to cannabis operation purposes to make sure the city's policies are in line with current Provincial and Federal legislation.
Officials are asking residents to give feedback and share their experiences with cannabis production facilities by visiting Your Channel.
This comes after a freeze put on any new cannabis production facilities in Welland by council in 2019 is set to expire.
Staff have already carried out an extensive land use review and have set up a project webpage and online idea board allowing all concerned to weigh in on the issue.
