Property sold on Rice Road

The city announcing the sale of over 31 acres of municipal land on Rice Road has been approved by council.

The land on the site of the former Welland Soccer Club has been sold to Schout Corporation and will feature a variety of housing types including single-detached, semi-detached, townhouses, and multiple dwellings.

City officials say money from the sale will be transferred into the Youngs Sports Complex Sustainability Reserve which supports the development of long-term strategies.
