Donations of school supplies can be dropped off at Seaway Mall until September 1st
If you're heading out to Seaway Mall anytime soon, you'll have a chance to help a local charity.
Until September 1st, donations are being collected for the YWCA's Backpack to School Campaign.
Items most needed include backpacks, pens, pencils, and snacks for kids.
The YWCA provides emergency shelter to people in poverty, and Communications Manager Catherine Leniarsky says demand is higher than ever.
"Due to the housing crisis, we are seeing a lot more families seeking shelter. And because we are one of the only full family emergency shelters in the region, we are seeing a lot of families."
If you can't make it to the mall, donations can be made here.
