Police have taken more illegal drugs off the streets of Niagara.
An investigation began early this year, leading police to observe a man who appeared to be dealing outside a business in Niagara Falls.
He was arrested, police finding fentanyl, hydromorphone and some money.
On Wednesday, police searched a Niagara Falls motel room, arresting 2 people, and finding:
- 140 grams of suspected fentanyl (value $11,000)
- 38 suspected tablets of hydromorphone (value $380)
- $1820 in Canadian Currency
Police have charged 55-year old Gerald Caines of St. Catharines with:
Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking (2 Counts)
- Possession of hydromorphone for the purpose of trafficking
- Trafficking in fentanyl
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Fail to comply with release order (2 Counts)
He remains in custody with a future court appearance.
They've also charged 55-year old Emnuela Bartolini of Niagara Falls with trafficking, who was released with a court date scheduled.
