The federal money is the 2nd phase of the Housing Accelerator Fund, to get homes built
Some great news for the City of Port Colborne.
It's receiving over $4.3-million from the federal government, to help speed up construction of 128 homes over the next three years, and 1,175 homes over the next decade.
This is the 2nd phase of the Housing Accelerator Fund, that the federal government put in place to fast track 112,000 new homes by 2028.
The city is also planning to reduce parking spaces for new residential developments, thus lowering construction costs, and encouraging walking and public transit.
