Buffalo Bills tweeted overnight their teammate remains in critical condition
Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin remains in critical condition, at a Cincinnati hospital.
The team tweeted overnight their fallen teammate suffered a cardiac arrest during the first quarter against the Bengals during last night's game.
It happened after he made a tackle. He got up from the tackle, but collapsed seconds after. Doctors performed CPR on him for a number of minutes as players looked on, gravely concerned.
The Bills say his heart was restored on field before taken to hospital.
This afternoon, the team provided an update to fans, saying Hamlin remains in the intensive care unit and is still in critical condition.
The game, with the Bengals leading 7-3, was postponed.
The NFL says the game will not resume this week, but an exact date has not been selected.
