It is the best finish for Canada at a Summer Games outside of 1984 boycotted Olympics
Before the games ended, a 27 year old from Alberta cycled her way to gold to become the last athlete Canadian athlete of the games to hear our anthem played.
Kelsey Mitchell's win in the sprint event gave us our 24th medal of the games, seven gold, six silver and 11 bronze.
Two Niagara athletes, Kristen Kit and Moh Ahmed also doing us proud.
Kit helped her rowing team capture gold in the women's eight.
Ahmed won silver in the men's 5,000 metre race.
London decathlete Damian Warner had the honour of carrying the flag into the Olympic Stadium for the closing ceremony.
