Over half surveyed say local crime and violence is worse than before COVID
Not the best of news when it comes to how Canadians feel about being safe.
It's less than before the COVID-19 pandemic.
A new online poll of over 1,500 people done last week by Leger and the Association for Canadian Studies asked if the level of local crime and violence has changed in the last few years.
65% said things are worse.
More than half of respondents said they think law enforcement and their city or municipality are doing a good job addressing the issue of public safety.
Only 39 per cent said the same about their provincial government, and just 33 per cent gave the federal government a passing grade.
