Property owners facing a $104 increase in property taxes for household.
The City of Port Colborne has passed the 2022 operating budget.
Officials say due to the operating and capital budget, which was passed in September, the blended tax rate will increase by 2.8 percent.
This will result in a $104 increase in property taxes per household (calculated on the average residential property valued at $207,501).
The operating budget will help support priorities such as the transition to the NRT OnDemand service, the reactivation of the Roselawn Centre, and playground equipment repair and maintenance.
In the next few weeks, City staff will bring forward the 2022 water and wastewater budget, once rate information is received from Niagara Region.
