Several construction projects taking place in Niagara during the summer.
A heads up to drivers throughout Niagara.
Construction season is underway, and the Niagara Region says several projects are underway or will start this summer.
Currently, work is being done on Dominion Road in Fort Erie between Helena Street to Lakeshore Road and Pelham Road between Wessel Drive to Eighth Avenue in Lincoln.
As well, intersection improvements are taking place on Thorold Stone Road at the Victoria Avenue and Bridge Street roundabout in Niagara Falls.
Work has also started on the Diverging Diamond Interchange on Glendale Avenue in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
In addition, resurfacing of Highway 20 in Thorold will start June 20th, along the S-Bend east of the Allanburg Bridge from Centre Street to railroad tracks, west of Allanport Road. Drivers are advised to find alternate routes.
The Region says this year, almost $78 million has been devoted to repaving and rehabilitation of roadways.
