The province's Science Advisory Table says government should encourage safe outdoor activities instead
The province's Science Advisory Table is calling on the Ford government to lift of some of the restrictions on outdoor activities that went into effect on Saturday.
The group says the province should be encouraging safe outdoor activities and allowing small groups of people from different households to meet outside as long as they mask up and stay two-metre apart.
The advisory group noting the Ford government needs to focus on "public health guidance that works" and that means allowing Ontarians to spend time with each other outdoors, where the risk of transmission is extremely low.
The table also wants to see paid sick leave, the closure of non essential businesses and restrictions on travel within the province.
Meantime, Christine Elliot the province's health minister, has indicated they are considering implementing a paid sick leave plan.
