We've had 78 confirmed cases of the flu here in Niagara this week.
Public Health is reporting 60 cases influenza A and 18 cases of influenza B.
We have seen 256 total confirmed cases since the start of the flu season in October.
Your best defense is getting the flu shot.
If you catch the flu; officials say you should stay home, wash your hands, and cover your mouth every time you cough or sneeze to prevent the spread.

Canada's Chief Public Health Officer says influenza A typically targets the elderly, while influenza B tends to hit young people.
Dr. Teresa Tam says we're also experiencing an early spike in a strain of influenza B this year.
Influenza B doesn't usually peak until February or later.
