Gas Prices Expected to Jump, Everywhere

See a price under $1.37? Take it... Gas price analyst

Some friendly advice from a gas price analyst, as the escalating war in the Middle East is pumping up oil prices, globally.

Dan McTeague anticipates gas prices not just in Niagara, but all over the place, to go up by 15-20 cents a litre, 30-cents for diesel, by the end of this week.

He adds the Canadian dollar does not help.  "Without much relief for drivers here in the Niagara region, or anywhere else for that matter, as we embrace for higher prices, I guess the only thing we can do is say today's the day to fill up.  If you can get it for $1.37 or less, don't think about it, do it."

Should the Middle East war rage on, he wouldn't be surprised if we saw $1.90 by the summer time.

He adds Canada could've avoided this by selling our energy globally over the last few years.  "Whether people realize it or not, they might like the idea of being "elbows up", but now with all these price increases, much of which could've been mitigated if not being so narrow minded with their political choices, yeah, they're going to have to reach a lot deeper."

He says gas stations with prices less than $1.35 range are cutting every penny to survive.
