The son of President Joe Biden is accused of not paying federal income taxes and illegally possessing a weapon
The son of U.S. President Joe Biden is facing charges.
According to a letter filed at the District Court in Delaware, Hunter Biden is accused of failing to pay federal income tax and illegally possessing a weapon.
Authorities say he will plead guilty to misdemeanor tax offences and is expected to reach an agreement with prosecutors on the weapon charge.
For five years, the Justice Department has been investigating the younger Biden, who has admitted to struggling with addiction after his brother died in 2015.
The news comes as congressional Republicans pursue their own investigations into his business dealings.
