Province pledges cash to hire more staff
Long term care facilities are getting a financial boost across the province.
The province announcing $270 million in funding to hire 4,000 additional staff members by the end of next March.
Long-Term Care Minister Rod Phillips says it is a step toward reaching his government’s goal of getting long-term care residents an average of four hours of direct care per day by 2025.
Phillips adding the cash will start flowing to the homes next month and the province will audit their expenditures to ensure the funds are used properly.
