A handful of Niagara Falls City Councillors, didn't seem too happy about the Region's decision to move to every-other-week garbage collection.
Councillor Victor Pietrangelo made a motion last night, to have staff look into whether the City can opt out of it.
During last week's Regional Council meeting; 19 councillors voted in favour of the change.
Eight councillors voted against every-other-week pickup. Three of those councillors represent Niagara Falls; Mayor Jim Diodati, Bob Gale and Peter Nicholson.
The change is supposed to save money and divert waste from the landfill, with recycling and organics still being collected weekly.
Director of Waste Management Services Catherine Habermebel would like to have the new collection schedule implemented by October 2020.
