Niagara Health has mandated changes to items and food being allowed into the hospital by visitors.
These changes come as additional measures to protect the health and safety of staff and patients at hospital sites.
Niagara Health released a statement on March 28th which stated, effective immediately only essential items will be allowed in for patients and absolutely no food from private homes.
Essential Items include:
Mobility Aids
Prosthetics
Hearing Aids
Glasses
CPAP Machines
IPads, E-Readers and Books
Clothing as absolutely necessary.
Niagara Health also said in their statement that they regret having to make these changes, but they are currently necessary to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
