The organization says the Hospital Information System is state of the art, enabling quicker service, while reducing mistakes
Niagara Health is about to start using a Hospital Information System designed to improve delivery of health care.
It says the state-of-the-art system will give health teams immediate access to patient records, meaning faster, informed health care decisions.
Niagara Health also says there will be no more handwritten notes, paper charts, reducing the risk of mistakes.
Niagara Health and Hotel Dieu Shaver starts implementing the new system Saturday morning, adding there may be some delays with service as the teams adjust.
Volunteers will be at emergency departments to answer any questions.
