Hamilton Wentworth Public School Board takes phased in approach
Students with the Hamilton board will be wearing masks to class today.
This comes after the Board of Trustees decided last week to defy the Ford government and is asking students and staff to mask up until April 1st, which is two weeks after kids return from March Break.
No word if there will be any back lash from the province.
The government insists the board has no legal authority to mandate masks in the absence of a directive from a public health unit.
Other school boards that had asked the province for an extension of the new rule were denied
