Over 250 people killed on OPP patrolled roads so far this year
The OPP is reminding residents to be safe on the roads and in the water.
Sgt Kerry Schmidt says the statistics so far this year are staggering.
"257 people have died already this year in collisions on our roads, on our trails, in off-road vehicles or out on the water."
Nine of the deaths have occurred within the last seven days.
He adds speeding, impaired driving and failing to yield are the most common causes of collisions.
So far this year, over 10,000 charges have been laid for impaired driving or stunt driving.
