Eugene Melnyk has died
The Ottawa Senators announcing the passing of Eugene Melnyk last night.
A statement from his family does not specify the cause of death.
Melnyk had a liver transplant in 2015 after a public campaign for a donor.
The Toronto native bought the Senators in 2003 and saw them play in the 2007 Stanley Cup final.
