Money will help the Town create six new pickleball courts.
The Town of Pelham is getting some money from the province.
The Ontario government is investing about $46 million to support tourism, culture, sport and recreation organizations in 186 municipalities and Indigenous communities.
This includes $489,800 for the Town of Pelham to make upgrades at Centennial Park in Fenwick.
The money will flow through the capital stream of the Community Building Fund.
The Town will use the funds to redevelop a multi-purpose court at the park into a dedicated basketball and ball hockey courts, as well as create six new pickleball courts.
Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff and Lisa MacLoed, Minister of Heritage, Sport Tourism and Culture Industries were on hand for the announcement.
"This investment in Centennial Park is good news for residents of Fenwick and the Town of Pelham," said Sam Oosterhoff, MPP for Niagara West.
"As the provincial voice for Niagara West, one of my top priorities is infrastructure that benefits local communities and families."
