Police Will Not Do Random Stops to Enforce Stay at Home Order

We have a clearer picture of what powers, police will have to enforce the order.

The provincial government has notified police chiefs that officers won't have the authority to randomly stop people to ask them why they are out and about.

A spokesman for Solicitor General Sylvia Jones says the order doesn't give police the power to enter homes or stop vehicles solely to check if the measure is being followed.

Some forces say they will enforce the stay at home order on a complaint by complaint basis.
