The Ontario government has given the DSBN the authority to award the tender for the new West Niagara Secondary School.
Over $50 million is being invested into the school, which serve students in Lincoln, Grimsby and West Lincoln.
The project will include spaces for over 1,500 students, as well as a greenhouse and a 750 seat theatre for school and community events.
Sam Oosterhoff, Niagara West MPP and Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Education, says this is good news for the community.
"The community and educational services in this new project will provide students with a modern and supportive learning environment."
The new school supports the consolidation of Beamsville District Secondary School, Grimsby Secondary School and South Lincoln High School.
