Health Minister noting pandemic has been hard on young people
A timely announcement following on the heels of a report by Pathstone Mental Health in Niagara saying it needs more funding to reduce the growing wait list for some of its services.
Yesterday, the province announced over $31 million in funding to help improve access to specialized mental health treatment services, reduce waitlists and wait times, and support the mental health and wellbeing of children and youth by addressing the increased demand for services during COVID-19.
In a release, Health Minister Christine Elliot noting, "The pandemic has been extremely difficult for many young people, including unique challenges for students. This funding will stabilize and expand existing services."
