Over half a million dollars being invested to provide support to vets returning to civilian life.
The provincial government is making an investment to help Ontario's veterans returning to life in the province.
Through the True Patriot Love Foundation, over $529,000 is being invested to expand access to specialized mental health and support services for veterans.
Minister of Children, Community and Social Services Dr. Merrilee Fullerton announced the investment today.
"Our veterans have made tremendous sacrifices to keep our province and country safe, and we have a responsibility to be there to support them when they need us, said Fullerton. "I am proud that our government is prioritizing our veterans and I am grateful to the True Patriot Love Foundation for their delivery of this important specialized programming."
The funding will provide group counselling sessions to veterans and their families, and provide female soldiers a safe space to discuss experiences related to sexual trauma.
