System will replace physical ID like a driver's licence or health card
The province has unveiled more details about is upcoming digital identification program.
The Ford government is looking to debut the system by the end of the year.
It will allow us to store our ID in a digital wallet app which will be available for download on smartphones and other devices like laptops.
Government officials say the digital ID will not be stored in a central database and will be only saved to your personal device, which can be turned off remotely if stolen.
As well, officials note it is not a tracking devise and is not usable without your permission.
